The purpose is NOT to fight the terrorists, the purpose is to make sure the US holds some territory in Syria before their terrorist proxies are fully exterminated.

The presence of US troops inside of Syria not only violates international law - they were not invited by the Syrian government and there is no UN mandate authorizing their presence there - this constitutes an invasion and has been planned as part of a wider goal of carving out an entire "zone" or occupied area of Syria.

While the US and its supporters whine about Russia "invading" Ukraine without evidence, and "invading" Syria despite having Damascus' invitation, the US is now openly invading Syria with ground forces after violating its airspace for over a year.

The only way to stop this is for Syria and its allies to ensure any space the US seeks to fill is already filled with Syria troops, Iranians, or an international force drawn from BRICS and Eurasian states. Russia must have another power move prepared - it's not exactly like this is a surprise..

The Iraqi government never asked for and does not need any US involvement in ground operations against Islamic State terrorists. The eye-opening statement came only a day after the Pentagon promised its partner more ground support if it was required.

To do so, they have been training terrorists, arming them and funding them, in order to do to Syria what they did to Libya. And they've been harping on about the so-called "moderate opposition" whom they support. But the problem is, Syrians do not support this 'opposition'. It doesn't even exist as such. All the armed groups that Assad's military is fighting use the same methods of terror and want the same thing - an "Islamic State". To support such groups - which is to work to ensure they take over the government of Syria - is akin to Russia funding, arming and training the Green Party in the United States to storm the White House and take the reins of power - if the Green Party were a radically religious group of extremist head-choppers, that is.

In essence, these zones constitute a defacto NATO invasion and occupation. The territory seized would be used as springboards to launch attacks deeper still into Syrian territory until eventually the entire nation was either permanently Balkanized or destroyed. Despite Brookings’ claims that eventually a national government would emerge and the territory under it “stabilized,” a look at all other NATO interventions, invasions, and occupations (i.e. Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya) clearly indicates Syria’s true fate will be anything but stable and well-governed.
